Gentlemen, I hope everyone survived the holidays and is ready to get into the new year. Since we did not have a meeting in December it is important that everyone show up for January so we can have elections and take care of some planning. As Bob has stated, we also need to plan a brew in. Also please remember that because of our new membership rules it is important that people show up or at least state what their intentions are. The minutes say Mark and I'm assuming that means Mark Kelly's house. Interestingly enough, the forecast is for snow. Go here for a look. blogs.chron.com/sciguy/archives/2011/01/post_204.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+houstonchronicle%2Fsciguy+%28SciGuy%29I think mark has plenty of covered space, but it may not hurt to think about switching Mark and Corey since Corey actually has a building. I'll leave that up to you guys. For planning purposes, Richard and I will be out of town for the march meeting so I would like to take April or May. Let's have a good turnout for this meeting so we can make some plans for a good year.

Hi Eric;
I agree that we must change plans if snow is at all possible at meeting time. I would suggest that we postpone the meeting rather than relocate to avoid putting people out on possibly slippery roads. You could, as president, decide to postpone say 48 hours before the meeting and then post it. Those of us who read the site regularly could then telephone those who may not otherwise get the word. Just a thought.................

The meeting is scheduled for January 13th right? I am off and would be able to hold the meeting at my house in my brewing building. No problems. Let me know what you would like to do. It will be heated or left open, im easy as a sailer on shore leave after a 6 month cruise.

If you want it, you've got it sugar booger. Let's plan to go to Corey's for the meeting. He has more heated space than I do, and we will likely need it. If everyone can pass the word on to those that can't (no computer access) or don't routinely read this site, that would be good. I still believe that if we have ice or snow forecast, postponing is the right thing to do.

Mark and Corey, thank you for helping resolve this issue. Everyone else please help get the word out that the January meeting is at Corey's place. It doesn't look like snow anymore, but it looks like it is going to be real cold starting Tuesday so it will be helpful to be inside.
I want to talk about some ideas for the brew in besides just choosing a date. I thought we did a good job of brewing the same first beer on several systems and making a second running and if anyone is interested in trying again on a different style I think it would be good to try. Think about it and post here if interested.

OK, game on. I will get home from work around 6-6:15 and start the pit, and the heater in the building. See you all there. I hope we have enough for a quarum this time. And dont forget to bring your money to pay your 2011 dues if you have not done that yet. Any problems, call me for directions....
