We need to get an accurate headcount to plan the food.
Please state how many and if you are going to eat crawfish.
John & Beth - no crawfish
remember to bring a side dish!

Jason: My comments were not meant critically; we just don't want to get at Dean's early and sit around waiting. 10:00 worked well last year for all but those who arrived early. It even gave time for one of Dean's guests to pick up some additional spices. Thanks for picking up the free crawfish we got last year and handling the meat this year.

According to Jason's post, Ray and Doug will bring the adjunts to the crawfish. Ronnie suggested 4 sticks of butter (1 lb), 2 containers of Toni C's spices, 1 bag of small or new potatoes, 1 bag of onions, at least 18 ears of corn, and a back-up propane cylinder. I was prepared to bring these items, but do not want to duplicate purchases. Market Basket has a good price on onions, and Kroger on corn. Someone let me know if I need to bring anything.

I am not sure a headcount will work. Three years ago, Ira brought 5 bags and leftovers went into the gumbo for the christmas party. Last year we started with 5 or 6 bags, and the leftover went into an ettofie (spelling?) for the Christmas party. Starting with 4 bags will not leave a lot of uneaten crawfish. Mark and family will not be there (big craefish eaters; maybe we can get by with 3 bags, but I recommend 4.

John: here is my estimate.
East of the Nechus: Ira & spouse, Ronnie & spouse, 2 male guests of Jason, Bob & spouse, Richard & spouse, Ray & spouse, Dean & spouse and 2 guests. Total 16. Unknown: Bill, Guy, other members and guests.
West of Nechus: Doug, Jason, Nick, Kyle & wife: Total: 5. Unknown: Corey, other members and guests.
It looks like we may have 25 (maybe more) crawfish eaters splitting 100lbs, no more than 4 lbs per person or about 0.60 lbs of meat per person (3 bags of crawfish). OK with me, but I hope we have plenty of beef to supplement the big eaters.
I have still not heard from Ray if I am to bring the adjuncts (corn, potatoes, onions, butter, spices).

Raymond will purchase the adjuncts. That way everything associated with the crawfish will be at Dean's before 9. Raymond, and Ronnie have the boil pots and the other equipment necessary to purge and cook. Thanks again to the cooks!
Bob to bring the club beer. Thanks Bob!
Jason will bring the 2 briskets. They just need to be reheated. Thanks Jason!
I have provided Raymond with plates, utensils and some beer flats. Thanks Beth!
Everyone is to bring a side, 2 if you are an over achiever.
Based on the response (expressed and factored) for attendance and male/female mix of crawfish eaters, my value judgement is that 3 bags is the right quantity. Everyone will have as much as they can eat for 1 meal. If there is more for a 2nd meal that's a bonus. Endless grazing and take home is not what this get together is all about.
Bring your bathing suit and beer to share.
Look forward to a great time.

Since I have been relieved of bringing adjuncts to the crawfish boil, I will likely not show up before 10:30. Since I have been a member in the club, I have always showed up early to help the cook (this year Ronny). I hope other members will be there to help. If you need late ingredients, call me. I look forward to having only one vehicle at Dean's this year. John's club beer will arrive iced down and I will bring a (low) CO2 cylinder. I will try to make sure it gets to Dean's with minimum of agitation. Ray: talk to Ronny about what he needs. I will bring a back-up propane cylinder.
