Meeting called to order by Dean at 7:07. Present were 14 members and 4 guests. No minutes available from last meeting. A short break was held while Ray resurrected the minutes from his computer. The minutes were read and accepted.
Treasurer John gave a report of money available (not reported on open site); report accepted
Old Business: Renaissance Festival, Ray is responsible for a plan.
Brew in at Richard's for club beer: very successful with plenty of help. We brewed a red ale that ended up >7% alcohol. Richard also brewed the next week a rye ale for the club. Samples of both will be brought to the next meeting for the club to decide how to best use these beers. Richard also reported that there was some club grains leftover. Membership all agreed that Richard should keep these grains because of expenses he did not report (hops, fuel, breakfast sandwiches, additional labor, and more).
Next Meeting at Ronnie's.
New Business: A member from the Good Times Club in Louisiana reminded members of the beer tasting and homebrew competition coming up in September in Lake Charles. John C proposed the club pay for the 1st homebrew entry from any member. Following heated discussion, this proposal was accepted with minimum opposition. Bring your entries to the next meeting for:
The Cajun Classic
Entry Deadline: 09/19/2011

I could not find a place for online entrees. Fill out a paper entry from another competition found on www.homebrewersassociation.org. I will bring some extra entry forms and help you fill out these forms at the next meeting.
Corey brought a truck load of bottles for members; I hope he did not leave with a truck load.
Eric Giffich was unanimously accepted as a new member; John collected the appropriate dues.
Fall brew in: Bob thought we had already decided a date, but it was not in the minutes read. We will decide on a date at the next meeting.
8:03pm Mark motioned to close the meeting, second by deceased members and a Kyle beer.
