The Pint Jockeys, a group of craft beer enthusiasts, will host their free monthly tasting event featuring new, seasonal and rare craft beer brands from the Del Papa Distributing portfolio on Thursday, October 20, 5 p.m. to 7. p.m.
Beers to be sampled:
•Saint Arnold Santo – This long anticipated dark, kölsch style beer is expected to hit shelves on October 20. ... •Saint Arnold Pumpkinator - This limited release brew by Saint Arnold Brewing Company debuts October 13. A full bodied beer with a good dose of chocolate and roasted malts, pumpkin pie and other spices.
•Rogue Dead Guy Ale – a German Maibock characterized by a deep honey color and rich, full flavor.
•Kona Pipeline Porter - A smooth and dark porter with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from a diverse blend of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island resulting in a unique roasted aroma and flavor.
•Widmer Brothers Brrr Seasonal Ale – A special ale for the holiday season with a bold, hop flavor and candy sweet finish.
•Sierra Nevada Tumbler (in Beaumont)–This autumn brown ale features fresh-roasted malt used straight from the kiln to give it a gracefully smooth malt character.
•New Belgium Brewing Hoptober Golden Ale (in Galveston) – Five hops and four malts make Hoptober Golden Ale a veritable cornucopia of the earth. Pale and wheat malt are mashed with rye and oats to create medium bodied ale with a creamy mouth feel.
•Samuel Adams Octoberfest (in Victoria) – This ale masterfully blends together five roasts of malt to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee.
