The meeting was called to order by president Eric at 7:16pm. 12 members and 2 guests were present.
Old Business: Ira reported on the Louisiana Beer Fest; 460 attendees. Ira gave members metals won (see last months record for winners). Next event on May 19. Also reported was a successful appearance at Beaumont's Art of Beer and the bus trip to Texas Renascence Festival.
December meeting at Bob's in Orange on Dec 8; January meeting at Dean's in North Vidor.
Brew-in at Richard's on Saturday.
New Business: We accepted a new member into the club. I don't recall his name and will use old age as an excuse. My apologies to the new member.
The Christmas party will be at Mark's on Dec. 10 from about noon till 9:00. Bring a side dish. The club authorized $100 to help Mark in paying for a Gumbo, pork loin, and utensils. We decided against gift exchanges or other incentives. Instead bring at least one super bottle of good beer and several 12 oz bottles to share. A club beer will also be available.
Because of a rapid increase in membership over the last year, we have had - at least on one incident - lack of a quorum to hold a meeting. Eric proposed (accepted) that attendance by 8 club members, including two elected officers, be sufficient for a legal meeting. This proposal needs to be read one additional time and voted on to change our by-laws.
