Doug opened the March meeting at 8:00.
John C read the minutes from January’s meeting. Joe made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Ronnie seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Dave reported the Treasury had $904.00. There are 17 paid 2007 memberships. Joe made a motion to accept the report. Ronnie seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Old Business:
1. For the brew-in it looks like we have interest for 5 batches. The date is March 24th. The location is Dave’s shop. Get there early to get a preferred spot!
2. Summer Party/Crawfish boil was discussed. The date is May 5th and will be at Dean’s. This is National Homebrewers Day. Still more work to do to line up arrangements for the crawfish. At the April meeting the food details and assignments will be worked out.
There was a discussion on brewing that day. Maybe we can get a 10 gal batch going.
3. The Bluebonnet is scheduled for the last weekend of March.
4. Doug purchased the CO2 regulator, bottle and several misc items for $214. THANKS Doug!
5. The AHA membership drive was at St. Arnolds on Sunday the 18th. No one at the meeting went so no report.
6. Monthly Meeting Locations
April 12th – Mark Kelly’s house
May 10th – Mark T’s house
June 14th – John C’s house
New Business:
1. The contact in formation on the web site is very out of date. I found the list and it should be updated by the time you read this
2. Discussed the. A number of members said they were planning on going. It is $25 for a tent spot. The weekend is March 30th - April 1st. The location is between Backwoods Homebrew Festival Houston and Austin. Here is the link www.thekgb.org/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Details/mid/453/ItemID/62/Default.aspx?selecteddate=3/30/2007
3. Sam Adams Competition – The rules have changes and Bob is going to post them but basically 1 out of 4 entries move onto the next level. Great prizes and we have members to PROVE IT! You will need 7 bottles to go all the way, so plan ahead.
4. Dean brought many cases of competition bottles that were distributed and very much appreciated. Thanks again Dean.
Ira made a motion for the meeting to close at 8:37 and Kyle seconded. Kyle’s and Mark’s (I believe) beer was enjoyed by all. Meeting closed. See you at the brew in!
