DeannchK opened the April meeting at 7:57.
John C read the minutes from March’s meeting. Corey made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Mark T seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Dave reported the Treasury. There are 20 paid 2007 memberships. Bob made a motion to accept the report. Corey seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Old Business:
1. Great success on the brew-in with 6 systems operating. Thanks, Dave!
2. Summer Party/Crawfish boil was discussed. The date is May 5th and will be at Dean’s. This is NationHome-brewersers Day. John and Ira will brew a Red ale?, on Dean’s system. A Motion was made by Ira to charge $5 for each member and $10 for each guest partaking in the crawfish. Mark T seconded and the motion passed. See the general discussion area for more info on the crawfish boil. Bring your bathing suit and be ready to play washers.
3. The AHA membership drive was atArnoldsnolds on Sunday the 18th. Johnny Mac reported that there were ~250 people and the taps were a flowing all day. A couple of the cask conditioned divine reserve kegs were also opened and enjoyed.
4. Monthly Meeting Locations
May 10th – Mark T’s house
June 14th – John C’s house (pool)
July 12th – did we identify a location?
5. The contact in formation on the web site is very out of date. John and Corey were supposed to work on this, hopefully we can get this needed item COMPLETE.
6. Discussed the Backwoods Homebrew Festival. We had 4 members brave the rain. It was a good time although most felt itpriceypricy and once may have been enough.
New Business:
1. Sam Adams Competition – The rules have changes and Bob is going to post them but basically 1 out of 4 entries move onto the next level. Great prizes and we have members to PROVE IT! You will need 7 bottles to go all the way, so plan ahead. May 1st was the deadline, so gook luck on your entries.
2. Wade and his band is playing at the View in Lake Charles on Saturday (4/21).
3. Mark and Dave are going to enter the Big Beer Bash the 2nd week of May.
Corey made a motion for the meeting to close at 8:35 and Kyle seconded. Kyle’s and Mark’s (I believe) beer was enjoyed by all. Meeting closed. See you at the Crawfish Boil!
