It appears that most recent club beers have been "big beers". I suggest that future club beers be closer to the one Doug brought to Johnny Mac's brew-in, nice session beers. I know that Mark will appose, but the club beers will be cheaper and enjoyed by more people, unless you age the big beers. With the increase in cost of hops and grain, lower alcohol beers will give members greater enjoyment at a lower cost. Maybe a high alcohol beer for Christmas might be good if it is aged at least 1 year. For Ron-de-brew, the beer Doug brought would likely win. Why pay big bucks for a high alcohol beer that would be better next year?

Well, it is too late for this year as Mark Kelly brewed the Maibock yesterday for the Crawfish boil and the ron-de-brew. I don't think you will have much luck changing the club beer from a BIG beer to a session beer, as it is a 10 club tradition. But, maybe we can brew a session beer also to have at gathering. You can brew, keg and carbonate a small ale in 2 weeks. As far the the beer entered at the ron-de-brew, BrewCrAzY will have a beer entered this year and it will be an 8% ABV Imperial Cream Ale I brewed it for the ron-de-brew last year, but I brewed it to early and I drank it.....
