Well, It has been brought to my attention that there was some discussion among a few members at the meeting last night that they think it is wrong that I bring a keg of beer to the Lunar Rendezbrew to promote my podcast BrewCrAzY, because I am the current president of the GTHC. I know that more than 5 individuals from the Foam Rangers brought kegs of beer and there were about 12 kegs brewed by individual Mastronauts and I remember at least two KGB members saying "try this, this is my beer" and the Homebrew supply shop there in Kemah had 4 or 5 kega they brought to help supply beer. They want as much beer as they can get, so I told them last year that BrewCrAzY will bring at least one keg this year. I have heard that some members said they would leave the club if I bring a keg of beer as BrewCrAzY. I called a few members today and the response was mixed. Some said it is not an issue and that I should bring a beer from BrewCrAzY and some said they can understand Mark's point.
Personally, I feel it is a non-issue, but if even one club member thinks it is an issues, then it is. So, I will not bring a beer to promote BrewCrAzY. Instead I will do like everybody else and just put my name and my homebrew club on the bottom of the keg. "John McKissack, Golden Triangle Homebrew Club." I do not want to be a reason to cause division in our club. We need to be united.
