Eric: I tried to find your original recipe on the web site without luck. I also asked members to tell me what to pick up in Houston; no one responded. I picked up grains that I thought appropriate, but I may have some additional grains to meet your recipe.

Bob,
The original recipe I had proposed was 23 pounds of Maris Otter, 2 pounds of Crystal (60-ish), 1/2 pound of chocolate malt, 1/2 pound of black patent, 3 ounces of Fuggles. Long boil. Shooting for OG between .090 and .100.
It was recommended that we increase this recipe by several pounds to get where we wanted to be. This was only a suggestion so feel free modify it as necessary. You guys are in charge of the kettles.

John, thank you for understanding the move, but we may be dealing with heat and rain Saturday so shade and cover will be important. I think I had you on the original list for a gallon since you were our standard bearer this year.
Also, I spoke to Dean this morning and I think he and Bob have alot of good ideas for the recipe.
AGAIN, EVERYONE PLEASE COME SATURDAY.

Eric;
Do we need to bring yeast or hops for the second runnings, or is all of that in hand? I have plenty of hops, but no yeast.

I'm pretty sure Bob has the yeast covered. It sounded to me like he was making alot of starter, but I will double check. Richard has plenty of hops in the freezer and I don't think we needed a whole lot for any of these recipes, but if you have something interesting that you want to try, feel free.

I have two Wyeasts ready and all the necessary British hops ( which I expect the club to pay me for at a reasonable price, below actual pri ce). I have also purchased additional grain, and Richard & I have crushed it. I will bring some more grain to closer match Eric's original recipe. The weather looks good, and we should end up with 20 gallons of old ale. I still have to pick up the O2. See you at Richard's tomorrow.
