GOLDEN TRIANGLE HOME BREWERS ASSOCIATION 3-14-13
Announcements:
Pig rowst @ Ira’s will be held on 3-30-13. It will be a potluck and BYOB type of function.
Erik, Bill, and Brandon have six entries into the National Homebrew competitions.
German Fest will be in October at Robert’s Cove, La.
Treasurer’s Report:
There are twenty-one paid members. The total for the club beer brewed on 2-23-13 was $103.00.
Minutes – Read and accepted
Old Business:
The National Home Brewer’s Day is May 4th at Richards.
The Brew in that was held at Dean’s on 2-23-13 was a success. The clubs made a Legacy batch on each of Kyle’s and Mikey’s systems. The clubs ended up with two kegs around ten gallons at 1.106 from Kyle and Mikey’s system. Richard and Brian received the 2nd running from this batch. Brandon and Erik ran the show on the Legacy batch. . Richard has Kyle’s system at this time. During this brew in the clubs made a total of sixty-five gallons on six systems.
At this time there is about a two year supply of Mikey’s beer left.
Brian H donated a keg of English Barley Wine that he made. The club is to bottle the barley wine and enter it into competition. Dean will enter the barley wine into a La. Beer competition. The club will forward any feedback it gets from the judging of the brew.
The amendments are in the process of being cleaned up and reviewed
New Business:
The Renaissance Festival bus trip date will be on 11/9/13.
The Pro Am competition is to be set for a later date.
There is a motion for the club cook off on 4/27/13 to be moved to 5/18/13 at Mark’s place. The motion was accepted to do it at Mark’s but the date is still to be settled.
David H. is to submit artwork for shirts to be drawn up by the shirt supplier. When done and approved the process of making the shirts will proceed.
The next meetings are to be held at the following locations:
April = Erik’s – Sulphur
May = Raybo’s
June = John C.
8:03 pm meeting closed with a Sammy Claus toast of Mikey’s beer.
