Dear Saint Arnold's Army:
THE SAINT ARNOLD THANKSGIVING
Gobble, gobble, Amber sip.
Wobble, wobble after a nip.
Taste of Brown, munch, munch.
What a yummy holiday lunch.
Christmas Ale, whoopty doo!
Such the perfect turkey brew.
Grass not growing, no chores to fear,
Still can enjoy that Lawnmower Beer.
Watch football, all ads have a sleigh,
Makes me thirsty for Elissa IPA
End of day, go to sleep,
After finishing Texas Wheat.
Happy Thanksgiving!
And our suggestions for pairing your holiday feast with Saint Arnold beers:
Traditional turkey: Saint Arnold Amber Ale or Christmas Ale
Smoked Turkey: Saint Arnold Brown Ale
Cajun spicy turkey: Elissa IPA
Creamy, butter dishes: Texas Wheat
Fish and light, herbal, aromatic dishes: Fancy Lawnmower Beer
Vanilla ice cream: Saint Arnold Root Beer
Play with some beers and dishes ahead of time and find what you think works the best! Then tell us your favorites.
One grocery chain is selling our beer almost at cost this weekend, and the chain is ______. Nope, can't tell you where. And now comes an unrelated statement.
We like "Shrek" as well as all things that rhyme with "ogre".
CHRISTMAS ALE PUB CRAWL THIS FRIDAY, NOV 17
Quick reminder for the Pub Crawl this Friday, Nov 17 in the north Rice Village. We paid extra to get perfect crawling weather! Also, we are going to experiment with a new approach. As the success of these crawls has made it more difficult to fit everybody into one bar at once, we are going to seek places where we can have an "open house" for the first 3 stops. This means that we will be signing tickets at all three of the first three stops for three hours so people can split up between the establishments. You will get your ticket at whichever stop you decide to visit first. But, VERY IMPORTANT, we will only be handing out the tickets between 6 PM and 7 PM (or very shortly thereafter). Thus, you still need to start between 6 and 7. Then, at 9 PM, everybody will gather at one final stop and that is where we will award the glasses. The prize for making all four stops will be our Christmas Ale pint glass. And as always, designated drivers are both eligible for the award a
nd encouraged to attend! We will have a large but limited supply. Also, we'll look for a final stop that will serve some bratwurst.
So here is the layout. As always, we can't tell you exactly where we will be, but here are some general directions:
The first three locations (at which we will be simultaneously between 6 PM and 9 PM):
One will be somewhere on Dunstan between Kelvin and Morningside.
One will be somewhere on Kirby between Robinhood and Quemby.
One will be somewhere on Quemby between Kirby and Kelvin.
At 9 PM, we will proceed from these three locations up Morningside to Bissonnet and look for someplace to congregate! We'll look for someplace with food.
Thanks for all your support! Our sales are up over 25% this year. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday.
Cheers!
