OK, well as I mentioned, I do not use 1 lb sugar per gallon. I used 3/4 to cut down on the kids sugar rush. But here is the easy recipe. I filled my boil kettle with 5 gallons of water for the Ginger Beer and the Creme Soda batch, and 10 gallons for the Zaterans Root Beer. I lit the burner and raised the temp to 140 - 150 degrees. Then I added the flavorings and stirred it up good. Then I added the sugar and stirred some more. After a few minutes of stirring and dissolving the sugar, I drained the kettle right into a Cornie, sealed it up and hit it with 20# CO2. Then I put it in my cooler and shook it up daily with 20# on it for a week. And you tasted the results......
You can buy the flavorings from any HBS for a couple bucks each. A cheap way to make a lot o' soda.
Ciao Baby.

Defalcoes, Northern Brewer etc. I order mine from Northern Brewer. They have a root beer made by Gnome that is pretty good too.
