Doug & I brewed a Texas Brown Ale Sunday. Billy showed up for support. We did a single temperature mash which reduced yield to about what we usually get. We chilled & grilled and had a great day. I expected another member to show up with 2 bottles for entry into the Palmetto State competition (I delayed a week on sending to accomodate him). Doug gave me 2 of his Kolsch and they will compete with mine for beers we brewed together. The difference is that Doug's was fermented warmer and has been lagered. It will be interesting to hear the differences the brew judges find.
I wish everyone a great Thanksgiving. Pair that Turkey with a good IPA (90 Minute), your ham with a good brown ale or porter, and beef with a dunkel or alt. Actually good beers go great with any food. The better way to select would be to pick your favorite beer and match the dinner to it.
