Get your entrees ready for Lunar Ron-des-Brew The site is www.mashtronauts.com. We have a tentative carrier, but if someone is going to Houston on June 30th, that would relieve him. If he goes, I will travel with him and buy supplies for the beer Doug, Mark, Dave, and I plan on brewing in August. Doug will post a drop-off site. If I go, I can also pick up supplies for the other team, and the lager yeast Dave & Mark want to use. Let's have a good showing at this sister club's event. Doug: I am available to help Saturday and we can make juice afterwards. I have burners, pots, but not the juice extractor.

Doug is willing to carry your entrees to Houston. I will go with him and purchase supplies for our brew. If Mark & Dave want a lager yeast, give me you first and second choice and we will pick them up (I'll select the latest). If anyone else needs ingredients, we can pick them up.

Let's have 3 dropoff points. My house in Nederland, John Cotton's in Beaumont and Dave's shop (club freezer) in Orange/Bridge City. I will pick up the entry's from John on Friday, from Dave on Fri or Sat morning. Highly recommended: use a sandwich ziplocks and rubberband for each beer for Labels and checks. The refrig may cause condensation and get them wet otherwise. Bob, where did we stay last year. I thought it was okay. Can anyone else recommend a place there?? Might want to think about making a hotel reservation. Didn't talk to Dave this weekend. I called and Margaret says he has been helping Johnny. Johnny is going through some tough rehab from an accident a couple weeks ago. To Johnny. Anything I or the club can do let me know.

Doug: I will pick up entrees left at Dave's shop early Friday afternoon. You can also drop off entrees at my house in Orange. I am home most of the time (tennis Wed morning at the courts you will pass a few blocks from my house. If I am not home, leave them in front of the driveway side back door. I will get them with-in an hour unless I have to take Carol again to the hospital (she's currently in Memorial-Baptist as a result of a low immune system from chemo-thearpy).

Dave has volunteered to take entrees to Houston Saturday. Dave may protest, but I suggest anyone entering give Dave a buck per entry to cover his cost (gas + a meal away).

At the last brew-in, Doug & I brewed a 1.088 sg beer. I took the finial runnings, and am convinced we could have got a 1.10 sg if we had used them. This means we should all get 5 gallons of a 1.05 sg beer each. If you want higher, I have corn sager to boost it. I would like at least a 40% wheat beer, but will compromise.
I will crush some of the grains, and will bring my roller mill for the other members to crush. The main thing I will be interested in is that the sparge pH is correct so that we can sparge thoroughly. I will bring my pH meter and acids to adjust. I will also bring additional equipment to boil down the finial runnings.
The hops should be Nobel hops, & I have them (German, Tetanger).
I will pick up the base grain this week-end. They can be American or Belgium lager malt (I prefer the later but it will cost you an additional $1:00).
Initial guess is that the cost (exclusive of yeast) will be less than $15:00 per person.
Since Dave & Mark want to brew a lager, the wheat yeast that I have already purchased will not be of use. Let me know what lager yeast you want and I will purchase them Saturday at DeFalgos. Please give me an alternative in the event the yeast is old or not available.
