Johnny: I've never known you to be modest, but you left off that you were also a winner (with Dean?). I know that Dean was a co-brewer (as I was) on one of Doug's medals. Food was not as good as last year and neither was the band (it was louder). I was disappointed Doug's (and mine) 60 minute IPA (entered as a pale ale) didn't win "Best of Show".

I had a great time even though my beer did not win. I am blaming Rita for the bad showing. Oh well it works for me. The Golden Triangle Homebrew Club made a great showing this year with the awards won.

Hi all It was great seeing everyone at the Rondebrew. Talk about a great event! We made our mark this year. Ray and Ricky (Homebrewers Gone Wild) took on Mark K and Dave (Holy Rollers) for the washer championship. Best game I’ve seen. HR took the lead 9-0. Then it was 11-2, the HGW’s looked a goner. The HGW’s clawed there way to 14 with the HR’s at 15. But ya gotta win by two. The second toss by Ricky was a ‘Holy Holer that didn’t go wild and the HR’s won by 2, 17-15. John C and I were too busy to throw darts watching the great washer competition. Steven K guessed all 5 bubba beers but there were some professional bubba drinkers competing so he didn’t’ make #1 in the beer-off. Ira won the accuracy in the paper airplane contest. Mine as usual flew below the radar. Corey/Mark’s Bock took the best club keg. And the shuttle!!! They will bring it to the meetings, when not on their mantle piece. We'll all get to turn in on and watch it flash. Ha. The beer competition was fierce. I took first with mine and Bob’s 60 min IPA entered as an Am Pale Ale (with a 30). Mine and Dean’s American Lite took 2nd with a 42!!. The club has a keg of this one. Dave scored a 39 in the special category with his monster, and no medals??? The club Bock scored a 27 in the competition but won best beer, go figure. Johnny Max took 3rd with one of his beers. We got to see Rob and his girlfriend. There might be some wine competition next year. We also tasted some great cider. Over 400 beers entered this year, the most ever. Our club entered 16. The food was good (great buns) and the club volunteers did a great job as always. I picked up the keg and washed it out. See everyone at the next meeting.
