I did not want to add to the confusion. Any date is OK with me. The club officers need to post the exact date and call all members that think it is Thursday or the next Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday. I will help in the calls.

Somehow we ended up with two threads for the October meeting and people are still posting comments under the September meeting. I don't really have an opinion other than to say that whenever you have a set regular meeting time and you move it for whatever reason, you are always going to have these problems because people plan around the regular time. And then it just becomes impossible to find a good time for everyone so you just end up with the time that is bad for the least people instead of the other way around. Having said all that, week nights are generally better for me than weekends, but other than that I will probably show up whenever.

I agree 100% with John. We all voted to have the meeting in Lumberton for October. No disrespect to Mikey, but it is very disrespectful to choose to change the meeting from a new members house. Yes it is a bit far for some members, but it was far for me to go to Bills house when I first started in the club. If we want to change the meeting place, we need to do it in the next meeting. The only other way I will support this informal meeting move, is if [glow=red,2,300]ALL[/glow] of the officers get together and decide to move it. To arbitrarily pick a date to move it to for the reasons posted in the other thread is wrong. I have no problems with Marks house, hell its a few miles from mine, but that dont make it right to do.

I echoed member's concern to Doug last night. Frankly, I prefer an afternoon meeting. My lack of night vision will soon limit my travel to any night meeting. I would prefer Sunday afternoon, but will try to make a meeting, where ever it is. The last thirty posts have wiped it out and it is not on the calander.

I am not in favor of moving the meeting time/place after voting on it, especially since it is against Roberts Rules of Order that the club goes by, also that would be disrespectful of the new member who is suppose to be hosting this meeting as well as the members who were present at the last meeting and bothered to vote on the time and place of the October meeting.
Thats my position on this matter and thats all I've got to say about that.

Thanks for everyone responding. With all that has transpired this past month, I wanted to make sure as many members can attend as possible. That's the reason for the optional dates. It looks like a great turnout in Lumberton. We will have the meeting at Darrel's Shop in Lumberton on Thursday the 18th at the regular time 7-10. In addition to the meeting on Thursday, Mark has invited everyone over to his house for an informal get-together around 1 pm on Sunday the 21st to enjoy some beer and meat and maybe some Dixie Cup attendees can talk about the event. The ladies, friends, and anyone that cannot attend the Thursday meeting can view the slideshow of Mikey then.

With my (lack) of night vision, I will attend the Sunday get-togeather at Marks, and not the meeting. I have an apointment with my eye Doctor and hope this will not be permanent.

Bob,
Maybe one of us that has to drive right by you to get to the meeting can come get you. I managed to get my hands on 10 Ghurka Centurians. Hope everyone can make it. See everyone next week.

The meeting is going to be at Cunningham's Collision and Custom. Take 69 N towards Lumberton. Exit onto Keith Rd., the exit before entering Lumberton (after Cooks Lake Rd.). Stay on Service road about a quarter mile. Darrel's Shop is on the right. It's a green building with the name on the front. I haven't talked to Darrel but Joe K say's he's excited for the meeting there and getting it ready. Somebody is bringing a german potato salad. Its our Octoberfest so think German. Ha. I'm bringing some blueberry bock to enjoy with the cigar. I'll also bottle up some of Bob's and I 90 min IPA. I hope to keg the brown ale Tues. Hope it's as good as Eric's and Richard's.

Dittos. Darrell had a great settup for the meeting. Glad BBushMaster showed up. As usual we all had lots of beers for everyone to sample. Glad we could sample some of Mikey's. We have a pretty good concensus of which picture of Mikey to post. I'll bring a laptop/copy of the pics Sunday to post.
Don't forget the gettogether at Mark K's house on Sunday from 1-6. His address is 5865 Bicentennial, Beaumont 77706. It's off Belvadere in W Bmt. A google/mapquest map will get you there. BYOB/M. I'm bringing fajitas and fixens and some of the same samples from the meeting. Doug
