Xmas Party
OK, the details. . .
Party is at John Cotton’s house on 628 Sue Lane in Beaumont. It will be on Saturday, December 15th from 1 to 6 pm. Or so. . . My number is 351-0997 if you need directions.
There will be brisket, chili, and chicken & sausage gumbo as the core. So bring a side dish or two that you like. If it needs to stay warm, be cooked or be reheated, I have that technology. If what you have is in a crock pot that also can be powered up. I will have all of the plates and forks and what not that so there is no need to bring that stuff. If you do, it’s OK.
A couple of the club beers will be available and I have a keg or two that we might get into.
The swapping of gifts has been a lot of fun over the past several years, so I would like to continue that this year. It’s optional but we could take names of those that do not participate. Basic info for the ladies keep it under $25. The guys can bring something that is fun to drink. Just like years in the past.
If the weather is nice we will be outside so bringing a chair would help out. If it is rainy or just plain cold we can move into the garage.
Call me if you have any suggestions or questions. Or post here. The monthly meeting is the Thursday, two days before.
John

Bring a 6-pack of beer. Anything, store bought, home made, smuggled in from over seas (MK), what ever. Put it in a bag you cant see in. We will get numbers when we get there. When your number is called, you go pick any other bag you want. But, if it is good stuff someone else wants, it can be stolen in place of there pick. But it can only be stolen 2x. After that its yours.

Corey: My idea of requirements for the Christmas party gift exchange and yours differ. Suzzie (Doug's wife) started this for the wifes two years ago. My wife was embarrassed the first year because her gift was much cheaper than others. Last year, it was again mainly the ladies, but the suggested price was about $25:00, much more than most six packs of beer. I don't want anyone embarrassed about bringing a $7:00 six pack if most of the gifts cost $20 to $30. Participation in the exchange is purely voluntary, but would you feel good leaving with a $30 gift when you spent less than $10. We can address this at the next meeting. I hope to be there, but - after eye surgery the day before - I will be dependent on my wife for transportation.
The blind beer swap would be something new and for the men only. I like last years gift exchange in which both family members could argue on the best gift and I was planning on a 12 pack of beers you can't find around here (my cost, $30).

There will be 2 gift exchanges.
One along the lines that Bob is talking about ($25 limit, something someone would really want) and the other along what Corey mentioned (a nominal six pack of beer, bottle of liquor).
You can choose to participate in one, both or neither.

I shoulda been more specific, I was reffering to the beer swap only, and is is a range around $20 or so, so dont buy a six pack of Lonestar Light, and get a six of something Mark can only get in Belgium. I was not reffering to the gift exchange with the ladies, thats a seperate exchange all together, and like John said, you can do 1, both or neither.
