Sounds GREAT! I need to call Joe and Raybo. They said they wanted to brew also. Joe's system is at my house right next to mine and ready to go. He will just need to bring a propane bottle. Any day after Christmas will be good for me. I brewed Friday and I plan on brewing 2 or three times over the holiday. I want to brew New Years day for sure, because they say what you do on the first day of the year you will be doing all year long. ;D I will ask Joe and Raybo if Wednesday is okay. And... Corey you gonna drag Herman over here? You up to doing a wheat flour experiment? Prior to Graham's Tropical Flour Witt? I recommend a test run.. Let me know Guys? Thursday is penciled in...

johnny what did you say you set the efficiency too on your recipe calculator it was 85 or 90% right On the club system, I normally set it to 85% and I usually do better than that. I just got off the phone with King Binka (Joe) and he said you can use his system to brew on and he will be here to help you brew, if you need help. You will need to bring a bottle of propane because Joe does not have one. Mega Mark Morgan said he will stop by and Raybo will too, but he is going to Houston to brew 20 gallons of beer with his Brother-in-law Ricky, so he won't be brewing. I plan of firing up my burners around 7:00am Guy Grove said he may drag his system over to brew also, he will have to wait and see. Sounds like a Brew-Bash to me! Everybody else is welcome to brew or stop by as well. My address is 5665 Tyler St, Vidor, TX 77662

I can sell you a lb (or three)of 2 row malt - at my cost, but you will have to pick it up in Orange. I will be home all tomorrow (Christmas). Wednesday morning, I play tennis close to my house and you can pick it up there. Do you want it crushed?

Jason, do you have a scale that will measure an ounce accurately? I need to weigh out my hops tomorrow. If you do, could you bring it?

well at 5:30 this morning I hear POP!! loud enough to make me jump out of bed woke up lit a smoke turned on the light to see what the hell it was and my firm lock is stuck in the ceiling with stopper attached I had a box over my carboy it blew the firm lock through the box into the ceiling I was panicking didn't no what to do was going to rack to a bigger bottle but then remembered me and johnny talking about putting a piece of tubing from the stopper into a glass of sterile liquid he had mentioned that its good for very vigorous fermentation, did that and lowered the temp to 69 in the room its working so far I like it because the glass catches the over flowing foam

Wow that was interesting well it blew the top off two more times but I wrapped a wet towel around it and it caught the explosion, it is now bubbling fast but normally, except about every 2 1/2 Min's it lets out a huge burp that lasts for 5-10 secs so I still cant use my firm lock I'm still using the tube, works pretty good, had to change the water 2 or 3 times already

LOL, that is one wild ferment, LOL! Well, I guess there was enough healty yeast in that smack pack. I remember you said that was your first time to use a smack pack. You got it from Brew It Yourself North of Houston didn't you? It sure must have been fresh! ;D Mine is fermenting fine, but no explosions yet. But I had mine at 65F because it got too cold in the garage. I brought it in to warm it up.

yeah that was from brew it yourself I put my carboy in a bucket to catch the foam if it exploded so I haven't been able to look at it don't want to disturb it too much I wonder how much liquid is left i lost a lot of foam well i will no in a day or two. man i really wanted to dry hop this one but yall got me scared now the thing is you said you have to sterilize the hops but all i have are pellets wouldn't they dissolve in the sterilizing liquid and are you sure you can use iodophor for this

well racked into secondary today it went allright, took a taste, it tastes great, but i was only left with about 3-4 gallons of beer because of the crazy foam over, do you think I really need to drop the temp to 32 it looks pretty clear

What final gravity were you shooting for? My Texas White Flour Witt has not showed any signs of fermentation for 3 days and the gravity was still at 1.020. I was hoping for an FG of 1.008. So, today I decided to add three Beano tablets. Three hours later and the airlock was bubbling once every 15 seconds and it is still bubbling, so I expect the gravity to fall slowly. I really want this beer to be dry. I have wondered about adding Beano to the mash to see what the result would be for a low carb beer.

well its just my starting grav was a bit lower than I expected but only .2% alcohol loss and I believe it was just that I had the recipe set to 90% efficiency should have been 85%
