A couple of thoughts;
The last time we pressed to attract new members, we got a number of undesirables. . . Word of mouth and folks that "worked" to find us have consistently resulted in quality members.
A significant increase in club membership would likely result in members not feeling comfortable in hosting the monthly meeting at their home. I am one in this group.

Good point John, but I saw one of the flyers Mike Hebert has posted at Specs, then I got in contact and joined, I guess that was back in 2004. The general public sees the new paper articles too, That is how Bob found the club. We need to bring it up at a meeting again and discuss it. The club already voted to keep an add on www.SoutheastTexas.com but it does not seem to attract any new members. I don't remember any undesirables, it must have been before I joined, unless it was me :^o We need to bring it up at the meeting and talk about it. I should make a good topic of discussion.

I thought about it and I agree, we should only put advertisements in a few select locations, where people of interest in brewing are most likely to tread. That is if we put them out at all. One place I would like to reach out to, is our local University, Lamar. You know try to teach the next generation about homebrewing. I also think we should get all the Hooter's girls to join too! Then run all the guys out I make a motion that all Hooter's Girl do not have to pay dues!
