Greeting all from the Bay Area Mashtronauts. Just wanted to send out a reminder that the party and awards ceremony are a little over a week away. Hope to see everyone on Saturday July 29th at the Bay Area Community Center at 4:00PM. Please see the Mashtronaut site www.mashtronauts.com for a map to the new home of Lunar Rendezbrew. We also have a list of local hotels on the site for anyone staying over on Saturday night. It is going to be a great time! Mike White Mission Commander Bay Area Mashtronauts

[Prep for] Lunar RendezBrew July 21st. * Last year, Golden Triangle sponsored the Blind Bubba contest. Have they expressed a desire to do so again? Else we'll execute it using our own manpower. * Suggestions on unique ways to execute the Bubba's beer contest are always appreciated. We'll keep the same basic format but have some options. One year we focused towards Texas bubba beers. Maybe everything is LITE this year? Maybe just variations of BUD products (I have stock in them)? Maybe just stay away from Bud/Miller and focus on Keystone/PBR/Schiltz (sorry PP), etc.

Ah, Blind Bubba Taste Test Contest. Always my favorite. If GT wants to do it again, obviously they can do it the way they want. If we are going to do it, I strongly prefer the standard method, which is to pit the popular pedestrian "beers" (and I use the term loosely) of the day against the "who'd a'thunk?" beers that always win, hands down. That would be Schlitz and Milwaukee's Best, of course. Pit Budmilloors against those two "unlikelies" (and throw in Keystone, Pabst, Pearl or whatever, if you like). Blind taste testers pick in order from "best" to "worst," for TASTE, rather than try to identify beers by name (which says nothing about tastes, quality or preferences) . Anyone else's thoughts? --PP KC5JK @ Yahoo.com (without spaces)
