Johnny, I agree with you completely. We need to incourage our members - many who brew great beers - to help recogonize our club by entering and winning in brew competitions. The Lone Star Circuit is a significant group (which we should be a part of), but we should encourage entering at other competitions. The next Lone Star event will be the BlueBonnet in Dallas. In the past we could drop off beers at DeFalgos. You have connections; can our members drop off entrees at DeFalgos.

John I and Ray have a brown ale for the Celtic Brew off in May. Ray made made the club Porter and Cory's club bock are two beers GTHC can be proud of (I was there for both) and worth the club(brewers) considering to enter into one of the competitions. I certainly hope most members enter into Samual Adams contest. Nine (or more) all expense paid trips to Denver an no entry fees is worth it. And our club won two of the nine. Not bad. Is the Celtic Brew off focusing on British Ales? Guess my passion is with the music too. Ha Bob Sunday afternoon looks good. I need to boil an extract sometime Sunday too. Your recipe for a Bitter with a lb of Lyles Golden Syrup as a kicker and maybe a little extra brown sugar.

Doug: you are welcome to join us. we will be brewing in the back of the house to avoid the strong North wind expected tomorrow. If you need yeast, I have an extra dry yeast available. You may want to show up a little early so that I can adjust the pH of your sparge water. I also may be able to help out with grains (base and others). If you are only brewing 5 gallons, I may be able to supply equipment. I difently have the hops.
