Thursday, Richard fell whill working on his pool and fractured his ankle. He went to the bone doctor today and is scheduled for surgery next week. He was in good spirits, but I would guess months of recovery are ahead. Let's wish Richard a speady recovery.

Richard offered his system for me to brew with this weekend, but he said he needed no beer. So, I am brewing at my house on Sunday, using the grains I had already weighed - an unfortunately mixed. I have yeast prepared for an ESB and grains to prepare about 7.5 gallons. If someone one wants to join me, we can make 10 gallons (dark grains for 15 gallons). The base grain is Marris Otter and the additional grains will be the same. I think my equipment will handle 10 gallons, so both of us should go home with enough beer to make 5 gallons. I have the hops. Your cost will be $20-25 for a 1.060 initial gravity beer.
If anyone is interested in joining me in brewing, please respond. For all other members, you are invited to join us. I have two beers on tap, an Elissa clone an a cherry porter. I have a few other beers that I can bring out. I will purchase a half dozen links of Robert's great boudin, and have a grill going. I plan on going up to Market Basket about 1:00 pm and buying me some of their cooked crayfish. I ate crayfish at two places recently in Alexandria and neither matched the ones at the local Market Basket. If you plan on attending, put your order in ($3.00/lb)

Richard - Please let us know if you need help with anything while you are laid up. Good luck with the surgery. Bmt Bone & Joint did a good job putting my foot back together after I broke it up; I hope you have a similar or better result.

Richard wanted me to post to tell everyone that appreciates the offers for help and that he has everything under control right now. He expects to be out for around 3 months, but will return to club activities as soon as his health allows.
