I talked with Doug last weekend. He was in good spirits. I have two brewing partners with systems; one with a fractured ankle - from my experience with a fracture elbow - Richard will not be walking well for at least three months; the other is Doug - who is not to lift heavy weights. Doug is my original partner and he agreed to brew an ESB using the grains I weighed out for a brew with Richard, and the yeast. I will still have to do most of the work, but I owe it to Doug. We will brew 10 gallons at his house on Wednesday. Doug is trying to make an appearance at work daily, so after mash-in, I will doze awail or read a book, and start the lauder. We will finish the beer when Doug gets back. The ingredients mix is not ideal for an ESB, but I forecast it to be great (maybe a little high on the dark grains).
