at the meeting last night Robert brought in a new prospect member named Jason (red) his brother in law I believe owns a local crawfish farm to make a long story short I am coordinating with him to try to get the best price possible the crawfish are unpurged but Ronnie agreed again to clean and cook the mudbugs PLEASE BRING PROPANE, BURNERS, AND POTS to help out Ronnie no expense limit was set yet I suggested 250$ but some had concern this was not enough we will have a meeting before the crawfish boil but I fear it will be too close to the crawfish boil to have everything planned in time so other officers please contact me some how so we can discuss this and RedJason feel free to post comments on here

I talked to Jason (Red) his brother told him he would give us half price crawfish now prices are around $1.60 large $.90 med-large mix so we would get them for around .45-.80 cents a pound he says prices will drop by june the prices are up for memorial weekend rite now so he figured under $100 for the crawfish he will get on here and he will contact me tuesday and I will update

Can we please get some reasonable headcount on here so we can make a decision on how many crawfish to buy without anymore drama. We can make a decision what, if anything, we are going to charge guests later based on how many people are coming and what we decide to purchase.

We probably can get a semi accurate head count at the meeting but that might be a bit too late. If need be, and if the phone log is up to date, a few of us can make phone calls to members one evening and get a pretty accurate number. Chime in.

Eric: We agreed in two separate meetings to purchase 200 lbs of crawfish, a number that Ronnie is planning to boil. I assume Jason is working on this amount in his negotions.. The club did nothing on providing alternate meat, during either of the last two (maybe 3) meetings, unfortunately (I will blame it on non-crawfish eaters for not expressing their opinions). Now - at the last minute - you want to change things. Please post your options.

I talked to Jason and I did tell him to go ahead and arrange 200 pounds for us but he also expressed worry that that amount is too much, he made mention of a crawfish boil he hosted for his church this weekend they cooked 240 pounds and fed 125 people with alternate foods aswell, are we really expecting that many people? its not to late to change the amount. p.s. last day of the sale heb has ribs onsale for 97 cents a pound now would be the time to get them let me no I have to meet with John today anyway

With Mark not coming (I hope John will invite Susan and her sons, particularly the one that was a former member), I am willing to agree to 150 lbs. However, the price is so great, I am reluctant to do so. At the last crawfish boil I took home an ice chest foll of mudmugs (the last of 200 lbs)and returned to the club 4 lbs of meat for the Christmas party's gumbo. I am willing to do that for this party or to pay to the club their cost. We will need someone to pick them up unless Jason has made arrangements. Depending on the time my son comes in Thursday, I may be able to pick them up between 5:00 AND 6:00 in Winney, if they are caught that day (ideal). My choice would be the medium size, easier to cook, easier to peal, and cheaper.

first I may have miss worded but we will get crawfish much cheaper than what was posted above we are getting them half price and the prices will be cheaper they were higher at the time because of memorial weekend, but I agree with you completely not only on the amount but also the size of crawfish I believe and allot of people will disagree "field mix" medium is the best choice for the same reasons you listed and I can garantee you put a medium tail against a large tail there the same except thickness of the shell all your paying for is the head. On a further note Jason (red) suggested if we peel the leftover crawfish and give it to him he will make us crawfish boudin at I believe no cost! P.S. I have all the meat under controll we are trying to get a head count and an executive meeting will be called either through email or a meeting later this week before the club meeting on these matters.

John Cotton and I was talking at work and agreed to call all members to get a head count this Monday at work. If not for anything else, to tell Dean how many people will show up. I know we agreed to a set amount of crawfish but some information is better than no information. I will post the expected number on this site prior to the meeting so we can update plans if need be. If Red wants to make the boudain, that is fine too. We can stick with the 150 or 200 if it will not go to waste.

Count me for the crawfish boil, along with my wife, my son and one grandson. All like crawfish, but I will have to peal them for my wife. With my son to help, we could peal a lot of the leftover crawfish. Crawfish boudin sounds great.

Raybo and I called around today to determine how many planned on attending the crawfish boil and how many folks do not eat crawfish. We have 25 crawfish and 10 non-crawfish eaters planning on attending.
Plans are to purchase 5 lbs of crawfish per crawfish eater (with 10 to 15% extra) and decide what other meat(s) to cook for the rest of the folks. The crawfish needs to be ordered Thursday morning prior to the club meeting while the balance can be finalized at the meeting.

I talked to Red this morning he says he will talk to the guy tonight about the crawfish and we can square up at the meeting I suggested six 25 pound sacks which would give us 150-170 pounds the sacks arent always exactly 25 pounds usually there a little more, he also mentioned the crawfish may still be donated to our club he will no more tomorrow but crawfish are not a problem we are reserved
